Mairs armored fencing fighters Harness fighting or “harness” (also known as harnischfechten, HEMA in armis, etc) is a sport that groups together a series of surviving systems from the medieval and renaissance era that focus on fighting in armor on foot, typically focusing on tournament (1v1) style combat with paired weapons.

Centering around the heyday of armored combat in Europe (ca. 1350-1550), the game is played by exploiting gaps and weak points in the armor alongside a high focus on wrestling; plate being impervious to most blows requires the fighters to target areas where it doesn’t cover and create openings to expose said areas.

This workshop / class will be an introduction to arming, targeting, and Dekoven Concord ruleset as its basis.
